Melbournian again! On Monday, I went to Whitehouse Fashion School in the city to assist a friend in styling her models for an assessment. She had asked me to help her out with hair and make up on her models after seeing photo's I had posted to Instagram (@reneemary). I was so nervous at first, as I don't have any professional training in hair and beauty. All of my knowledge of hair and beauty has been picked up over the years from watching my mum, my godmother and Angelique's mum Bianca do make up and hair. I watch make up tutorials regularly on YouTube for inspiration and I find Promise Phan's videos to be a really great source of inspiration! After a few minutes of settling in and getting comfortable I was off to work and I managed to get the two models hair and make up done within an hour and a half. My friends inspiration for the hair was a picture of Blake Lively on the red carpet sporting a very similar hairstyle, and the inspiration for the make up was from one of Givenchy's collections in which all the models wore sequins underneath their eyes.

I'm quite happy with how the hair and make up came out and overall I really just enjoyed the experience and hopefully this small amount of experience is something that will work in my favour in future. It's a great passion of mine that involves a lot of creativity and shows my artistic side. I hope one day not to far away, I will complete a beauty course and be able to do this professionally.

Sydneysider again! Since it's my ACTUAL birthday today, My boyfriend thought it would be appropriate to celebrate my coming of age with a cute brunch anywhere I wanted. We'd been craving french toast ever since we had it at his sisters cafe about a year ago, so I decided to research the best french toasts in Sydney (I was bored and didn't really have anything else to do, okay.) Anyways I stubbled across this cute blog I thought I should share... Serendipity-chai.blogspot.com.au

We didn't end up going to any place on the blog but went to Lumiere Cafe- 425 Bourke St, Surry Hills instead. The cafe had a nice, modern and open feel to it compared to all the other quirky, old-school cafes that make up the Surry Hills culture.

Although a pretty cafe, it makes a lousy french toast. Don't let this picture fool you, it was rather dry and the mascarpone cream was more like a thick, tasteless sour cream. Trust me and don't go anywhere else but Cafe Berlin in Balmain for french toast. It's so good!

Oh and did I mention that my amazing boyfriend got me my first ever Chanel item....

and yes I died a little inside when I woke up.

Sydneysider and Melbournian posting! At long last the best friends have reunited after almost 7 months (shameful, we know.) But what a reunion it was. It was my (Angelique) 21st Birthday party that got Sian dipping into her pockets to buy a plane ticket to good old Sydney. I just couldn't have my birthday without my other half. The night ended up being more than fantastic, it was totally perfect (except for the part where I had my head down the toilet the following morning!) I themed it 1920s Charleston, so as you can imagine the room was filled with feathers, pearls, suspenders and bow ties.

Sian and I went for the traditional Black&White

My hair doesn't look that great here but I grantee you that it looked alright on the night. I have the hardest time curling my hair but the one person to ever get it right was James from Sterling Hair & Barber Salon-Surry Hills. It's a retro hairdressing salon with a 50's touch. Get James to do your hair because he is brilliant!

If you're wondering about Sian's makeup look no further than MAC. For her eyes she uses MAC 75 on this colour pallet and Modelsprefer eyelashes $14.95 from Priceline. AMAZE!

Oh and lastly If you're looking for a medium sized hall by the water- don't go past the Dobroyd Aquatic Club or the Hunters Hill Sailing Club (links below)

Melbournian here! To continue an already highly eventful birthday weekend, the morning of the 19th my family, my boyfriend and his family and some family friends joined us for breakfast at The Firehouse in Ringwood. If I could choose to have breakfast instead of dinner I would, especially if it was always as amazing as my meal at the firehouse.

I had the "Russet Burbank potato rosti, huon smoked salmon, truffle scented scrambled eggs & snipped chives" with a side of garlic herb mushrooms. My meal was delicious and the private function room we were in was such a nice yet simple set-up. I got all dolled up and sported a bright reddy orange blouse from Sportsgirl, with a fitted black mini-skirt and a black and white necklace from Lovisa.

I wore my hair in a doughnut bun and wore a bright tangerine lipstick, also from Sportsgirl which only cost me $9.95! They have an entire range of lipsticks at Sportsgirl at the moment which is similar to (and much cheaper than) MAC's lipstick range. After breakfast we all enjoyed my beautiful cake from Laurent Patisserie. It was to die for, to say the least and very light which made it the perfect desert to accompany a very filling breakfast

After a lovely morning spent wining and dining, the evening was spent with my girls! That night we went to Trak nightclub in Toorak to celebrate mine and my bestfriend Nesi's 20th birthdays. I wore a matte gold sequinned dress from Dotti with red platform block heels from Wittner and a black and white keyboard necklace from Lovisa. I also sported some red lippy which I again, I purchased from Sportsgirl. The girls and I were all dressed up for a night on the town and we had a really great night dancing to old school r&b songs at our favourite nightclub.
