Sydneysider here. I have to worn you that once you hit the age of 20 prepare to have all your Saturday and Friday nights taken up by 21st birthdays! However, last week I attended the loveliest twenty-first on a Sunday morning at the Royal Botanic Gardens, Sydney. I'll admit that the sound of a 10am, 90 guest, formal breakfast doesn't go down well when you've been at your best friends twenty-first the previous night... But alas, It was actually an amazing day! I will recommend to anyone who wishes to have an intimate spring, gardenesque wedding or birthday to do it here. The venue has this shabby-chic feel to it, which suited the birthday girl perfectly.

Melbournian gal here! Being 20 years old is such a nothing-age, similarly to when I turned 19. But that doesn’t mean it can’t be celebrated in style. For my birthday this year I decided I wanted to do a few things with my friends and family because, hey, why the heck not?! You only live once. My birthday started with my boyfriend taking me out for breakfast to a lovely little Greek café restaurant in Wantirna called Café Greco. The food was a mix of contemporary Greek cuisine and your typical café breakfast.

It was superb and extremely filling, so we didn’t eat until later that night when we went to a Restaurant called Rococo- 97 Glenferrie Rd, Hawthorn

Rococo is a very trendy restaurant and bar that many people my age like to hang out at for cocktails and gourmet Italian food.  My girlfriends, boyfriends and I had a fabulous time sipping on unique cocktails with rose-syrup and alcoholic fruit smoothies. We had some amazing meals such as smoked salmon pizza and gnocchi al fungi in celebration for my birthday. Since Rococo is a very classy, up-town place, I thought it would be the perfect opportunity to debut my gold sequin Sportsgirl jacket that my boyfriend kindly bought for me a couple of months back!  I am a sucker for anything gold and sparkly.

The next morning my dad woke me up bright and early to take me to Laurent Patisserie in Balwyn, to select my birthday cake. There were so many beautiful cakes, I could hardly decide. I decided on the “Tarte aux Fruit de la Passion” cake; a passionfruit and raspberry tart cake. Not only were there some spectacular looking cakes, but there were Macaroons. I love Macaroons. This Patisserie is a little piece of heaven, and I highly recommend it to all, even just for an afternoon coffee and cake with the girls.
