Sydneysider posting.
As my wonderful, yet stressful journey of being a fashion intern continues, last week I found myself working on another exciting event- the Mercedes-Benz Fashion Festival!
For anyone contemplating on doing it but not sure if it's worth it or not.  I say do it because it really is an experience that not a lot of people will ever get to try.
It can be hard work at times for example, on the first day I volunteered to do a 13 hour shift and boy was I dead by the end of it! But the end result is worth it and you get to meet people that you admire in the industry whilst pulling a few contacts (which is always good.) Also, think about all the goodie bags you get to steal after the show ;)

Sydneysider posting. I'm sure you've all heard of this place but for those who haven't, Miss Chu is the place to go! I've never been a fan of Vietnamese restaurants, simply because they seem a bit daunting and I can never understand what I'm ordering but what makes Miss Chu so different is how it brightens up the whole Vietnamese experience by making it fresh and fun.

The place is foremost an outside take-out joint that pushes its customers to order online rather than stay and eat (marketing brilliance). The one in Darlinghurt puts warm blankets on their chairs for the people who do end up staying outside.

When you go, be sure to try the peking duck pancakes but order four or more because they're pretty small.

Free tea is always a plus in my books!

Sydneysider here! Today I had the privilege of working with one of Australia's leading designers, the one and only Wanye Cooper. The girls at Arc Factory asked if I could assist the photo shoot for his AW13 look book and of course I was on it like a fat kid and a cupcake! Wayne is such a brilliant man and his family is just as amazing. You'd be surprised how totally down to earth and hilarious he is. We shot the beautiful Rebecca Bisset for the collection (be sure to look out for her, she's only 19 years old and models as if she been doing it for years!)

My favourite piece out of the entire collection was this neon green dress (picture below). I love how we're now introducing more and more colour into winter. I'm going to try and only wear black as a desperate 'safe' option.

Melbournian here! Last week my boyfriend and I spent lovely weekend away from home in Albert Park. Albert Park is located in the outskirts of the Melbourne cbd and is a truly picturesque area. Nearby Albert Park is another scenic location known as St Kilda. St Kilda is on the beach and has a great social vibe, it’s a beautiful place to go for lunch and relax by the water in cold or warm weather. On the Saturday night we went out for dinner in St Kilda at the restaurant Veludo on the lively Acland Street.  Veludo is a modern Australian restaurant, slightly inspired by Italian cuisine. The interior of the restaurant is also super modern. We shared a tapas style entre with a trio of dips, a loaf of sour dough and a selection of antipasto goodies! For mains I had the spinach, rocket and fetta gnocchi and my boyfriend had the slow cooked Lamb shank with mashed potato and purple carrots. The food and the style of the restaurant were both very alternative giving the place a really mysterious aura.

I sported my brand new floral printed blazer from Glasson’s and silver plate necklace from Collette Accessories with my favourite orange lipstick from Sportsgirl. Blazers are a great way to make any simple outfit look a lot dressier, as are big statement piece plated necklaces.

The next morning we were provided with an all you can eat breakfast at the hotel we were staying at. I had eggs benedict with smoke salmon (my favourite!) and my boyfriend had banana pancakes. There was also a large selection of fresh fruits and baked goods to choose from.

After we had finished breakfast we went for a stroll around the beautiful Albert Park Lake that was visible from our hotel room. The lake is very scenic and surrounded by yacht and rowing clubs. Located so close to the heart of the city, Albert Park and St Kilda are definitely must-sees for any tourists or visitors

Sydneysider here.
Guess what!? I've finally snagged an internship with one of the best fashion PR showrooms in Sydney! You are now looking at the newest intern for The Arc Factory in Darkinghurst. Their company represent the likes of BONDS, Bettino Liano, Wayne Cooper, Anna & Boy, Roxy, G-Star and many more!
Even though it's hard work (running around Darlinghurst with bags of shoes and dresses in my hands, stopping every 2 minutes because they were so heavy) I honestly had so much fun with the girls and had the priveledge of learning a whole load of fashion pr jargon which they fail to teach you at university.
My day consisted of a) watching male models strip off and take photos for the casting of the latest Politix campaign (wasn't complaining there!) b) Putting together behind the scenes photos of model Arizona Muse, for our Instagram - #thearcfactory and c) Going through all the latest magazines, highlighting our major brands.

But it's not all fun and games... I also had to move over 100kgs worth of old newspapers down stairs to be recycled.

Here's a quick snippet of the showroom.

Melbournian here! It seems that the latest fashion fixation that I and many others share at the moment is the super sultry and sexy low cut neckline. When worn correctly, this look just screams chic and classy. As demonstrated by no other than the super mysterious and smouldering Megan Fox.

Her last name isn't 'Fox' for nothing ;P

Ew!
When done incorrectly, it simply screams cheap and tacky, as noted on the right photo!

This look (when done correctly) is just so stunning, dressy and simple for either a night out on the town or dinner at an A grade restaurant.

Angelique showing us how it's done in her gorgeous Bec&Bridge Dress

To achieve this look successfully without pulling a Janet Jackson there are a few options.
A “U” Bra is probably the most secure option, as you don’t have to stress about anything being exposed.  It means you can feel comfortable all night whether you’re at a night club dancing or at a party and still pull off the sexy plunging neckline.

I'm wearing the U-Bra with this top in order to pull off
the plunging neckline

Another option is the not so nice looking- Chicken fillets/ stick on bra. They might not look too appealing but they come in handy when wearing a low cut dress and are particularly handy if the dress also happens to be backless. The stick on bra is effective but doesn’t give as much support as the U-bra, and because it stays on due to the adhesive, a lot of movement can cause it to move out of place.

The other option is to purchase these little tabs (Braza Bra) that are similar to double-sided tape for the body, which you tape over your breasts and they cling to the dress and prevent it from moving. They are designed in such a way that when you put them on they cover everything while also providing lift. They are very sticky so there shouldn’t be too much concern of anything being exposed, however Angelique tells me that, if it's lift you are after then the sticky strips are not your answer.

All of these items can be purchased at Bras N Things.

To sum things up, this look is so easy to achieve and brings a nice change from the high neckline that has been in style for the past season or so. Why not bring back a little heat this winter?!

With this dress I wore the 'Stick on Bra.'
It just goes to show that you don’t have to hide your assets to look elegant.

Sydneysider posting!

I finally had some spare cash in my account, so what better way of spending it than a small weekend away to good old Melbourne to visit Sian!

Note to all who are going this winter: You will die if you leave home without a coat! Sydney's winter feels like a sauna compared to Melbourne's. Apparently we were lucky to have two sunny days whilst we were down there.

Although cold, it was an amazing weekend! My boyfriend and I stayed at The Metropol on South Wharf and did I mention that we got upgraded an Isika Spa Suite on the top floor.

Check out our sweet view. Winning!
Now I've been to Melbourne numerous of times but would you believe that I've never been to Chapel Street?! (embarrassing, I know) So the first thing on our agenda was to tackle the enormously long street. For shopaholics like Sian and myself, this place is your enemy so stay clear if you have no money.

This isn't Chapel St, but it sure is lovely!

For lunch, we went to the BEST burger joint I have ever been to, and I've tasted a lot of burgers since I've been with Karl! Jus Burgers on Chapel St, makes the tastiest cheeseburger with a twist. I loved the idea of having swiss cheese, aoli and tomato relish instead of the traditional ketchup and cheddar.

Next thing on the agenda was to see Sian!! We decided to organize a cute double date at the beautiful Bakini in South Yara. However, things turned upside down when it came to picking us up from our hotel. Being smack-bam in the middle of the city, with traffic everywhere because of the rugby caused a lot of confusion so we settled for somewhere near the Crown Casino instead.

On the Crown Promenade you will find amazingly over priced restaurants such as the Atlantic, Rockpool Bar & Grill and Nuevo37, all over looking the wharf and fairy-light covered trees. It's truly magical.

This is us at Cervo (a much cheaper alternative on the promenade but still cute) sipping Appeltinis and eating yummy italian pasta. All in all, a truly wonderful evening with truly wonderful company!

Dress- Princess Polly. Shoes-Tony Bianco. Necklace-Sportsgirl.
Clutch-Saba.  Blazer-Calvin Klein Jeans
Style tip: Going out for dinner? Nothing beats a cute blazer and a bright
statement necklace to jazz it up.
Before I go, I have to say 3 nights in Melbourne is really not enough. I would suggest planning at least one week to get the most out of your trip. Sian was right, in terms of food and culture Melbourne s***'s on Sydney.
